The Mainstreeters softball team won 27-6 in five innings at Melrose Area in their season opener today. It's the first season-opening win for Sauk Centre's softball team since 2008.
Their next game is in one week on Apr. 10 at Albany.
The 2012 season begins on Tuesday with a trip to Melrose for the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters softball team. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
The entire starting lineup minus starting pitcher Kourtney Nelson returns from the 2011 season. The Mainstreeters finished 10-10 overall, including a 9-7 mark (4th) in the West Central North Conference.
