Sauk Centre Mainstreeters are in action at St. Ben's

Early in game one the Mainstreeters fought through ties at 2-2, 6-6 and 7-7 against the Annandale Cardinals, who entered the match with a 10-19 overall record after winning only seven matches in the regular season.

A Cardinals' hit out of bounds to lead 12-7. A net violation on the Cardinals followed to put Sauk Centre up 13-7. Annandale promptly called a timeout.

Jena Klaphake has been serving the last five unanswered points. Klaphake earned an ace serve to put the Mainstreeters up 14-7. She then served out of bounds to make it 14-8 and give Annandale the side out.

A right-side kill by Macy Weller made it 15-8. Then it was 16-8 and 16-9. Another Weller kill made it 17-9. Sauk Centre is on a roll.

Then it's 18-9. Krista Primus's ace block gave Sauk Centre a 10-point lead at 19-9. Weller has been serving the last two points.

Since the 7-7 tie, it's been all Sauk Centre. They lead 20-9, and Annandale burned their other timeout.

Another Primus kill that found Annandale's back row made it 21-9. A Cardinals net violation made it 22-9.

Weller sent a serve over with heavy top spin that just cleared the net for another ace serve. 23-9...then Weller served it long. 23-10.

A Primus kill brought game point at 24-10.

Lexi Berscheit served it up, but the Cardinals earned a block for the side out. 24-11. A Sauk hit out of bounds made it 24-12.

The Mainstreeters earned the next point to take it 25-12. Plenty of highlights for Sauk Centre fans!

In game two, two Weller kills brought the Mainstreeters out to a quick 3-0 lead. They went on to lead 8-1 and 22-16.

Annandale made an error to make it 23-16. Then it was 24-16 at game point, with Weller serving. Both teams traded free balls, and the Cardinals committed another error to give Sauk Centre a 25-16 game two win.

Game three started at 2:43...
Sauk Centre trailed 4-2 early in game three before forcing ties at 4-4, 5-5 and 6-6. They took a brief one point lead, then fell into a 7-7 tie.

A Kendra Zenzen ace block put the Mainstreeters up 9-7. Then they had a 10-8 lead.

A kill by the Cardinals made it 10-9 advantage Sauk Centre.
