Mainstreeters' fastpitch is cancelled due to the weather

No date has been set for the Foley vs. Sauk Centre fastpitch softball game, which was to be held today at home at 5pm.

Berling's Blast leads Streeters

Tyler Berling was not a happy camper when he stepped to the plate in the sixth inning of Thursday's game against Melrose.

The senior had a no-hitter going into the fifth inning, but gave up a hit and then made a throwing error that helped lead to Melrose taking a 2-1 lead.

Berling came to the plate in the sixth with a chance to redeem himself and did he ever. Berling hit a 1-1 fastball over the left-field fence for a two-run home run, giving the STreeters a 3-2 lead in the WCC battle with their crosstown rivals.

Berling hooted and hollered his way around the base paths, Derek Holm scoring in front of him.

Fellow senior Shane Trattles, who relieved Berling in the sixth, pitched two innings of hitless relief to get the win.

The Streeters improved to 5-6 on the year with the win. Melrose fell to 5-6 as well.

Sauk's game Friday against Foley was canceled due to inclement weather, The game is rescheduled for Monday at 4:30 in Foley. Sauk also plays New London-Spicer next Tuesday at home and will host Albany Thursday.

Mainstreeters' track and field has a strong showing at NL-S Little Crow Invite, Girls take 2nd and Boys are 4th out of 12-team fields

Junior Maren Greenwaldt paces herself in the 1600-meter Run at NL-S, in which she emerged as champion with a time of 5:37.26.

Mainstreeters' fastpitch softball squeezes past Melrose Area 9-8, Baseball also wins by one run over Melrose 3-2

The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters' fastpitch team recorded their fourth win of the season today with a 9-8 win at crosstown rival Melrose Area.

The Mainstreeters' baseball team pulled off a very satisfying win over Melrose Area at home by a 3-2 score. Look for more from the game over the weekend.

Today (Thursday) is a busy day for Streeters' around the area

Fastpitch softball: a conference battle at crosstown rival Melrose Area at 5:00pm.

Baseball: on the home diamond, a conference battle with crosstown rival Melrose Area (5-5 overall) at 5:00pm.

Track and Field: a trip to New London-Spicer at 3:30pm for the Little Crow Invitational.

Boys' golf: a trip to Foley for a conference meet beginning at 5:00pm.

Sauk Centre Mainstreeters' boys track and field wins B-B-E Lions' Invitational, Mainstreeters' girls squad is runners-up

At the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Lions' track and field invitational on Tuesday, the Mainstreeters' boys team took first place honors out of a nine-squad field. Individual champions for the Streeters were Michael Kluver (800-meter Run, 2:12.0), Jacob Gerhartz (3200-meter Run, 10:47.0), and Bryce Hentges (Triple Jump, 38-8).

The Mainstreeter boys' 4x400 and 4x800-meter relay teams were also champions.

Boys' team scores at B-B-E: 1. Sauk Centre 148; 2. Maple Lake 125; 3. Paynesville 99; 4. St. John’s Prep 89; 5. Eden Valley-Watkins 82; 6. Rockford 61; 7. Holdingford 57; 8. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 27; 9. Hancock 12.

On the girls' side, the Mainstreeters' girls team finished runners-up behind Paynesville Area by a 153-122 point margin.

Junior Amelia Maher was champion in the 200-meter Dash (29.0 seconds) and the 300-meter Hurdles (49.9 seconds) to lead her squad.

Mainstreeters' baseball team defeats Milaca 8-6, while Fastpitch wins 3-1 vs. visiting Milaca

The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters' baseball team won their fourth game of the season with an 8-6 win at Milaca in a West Central North Conference game tonight.

The Wolves gave up two unearned runs in the first and seventh innings that led to their demise.

For the Mainstreeters, seniors Shane Trattles and Tyler Berling each hit .750 (3-4) to lead the offense. Sophomore Derek Holm hit 3-for-5.

The Mainstreeters' baseball team improves to 3-5 in the WCCN and 4-6 overall.

Milaca falls to 1-11 overall and 0-9 in the WCCN.

In a home game, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters' fastpitch softball team defeated Milaca 3-1 for their third win of the season. They improve to 3-7 in the West Central North Conference with the win. It was a great turnaround from their first meeting with the Wolves in the season opener, which Milaca won 9-0.

Senior Chelsea Donnay batted a thousand in going 3-for-3 with one run scored and an RBI. Sophomore Jenna Beste went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Milaca's fastpitch team falls to 6-8 overall and 3-8 in the WCCN.

The Mainstreeters' boys golf team placed fourth at a West Central North Conference meet at Meadowlark Country Club in Melrose with a team score of 173.

The Mainstreeters' girls golf team placed sixth at a conference meet at the Long Prairie Country Club.
