Wrestlers drop three at home quadrangular - Girls' basketball falls to Albany in conference opener

No word on the wrestling team, who hosted a Quad at Melrose.

Two events on tap tonight on the eve of the day before Christmas break

At 5:00 p.m. tonight, the Sauk Centre/Melrose wrestling team will host a quadrangular in Melrose. Other teams included are Princeton, Mora and Becker.

Later in the evening, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls' basketball team hosts Albany in the West Central Conference North opener. Both teams are expected to contend for the conference championship this season.

It's a good night for local sports teams - Mainstreeter boys' basketball wins shootout vs. Osakis while Prairie Centre wins at Redwood Falls

Final in boys' hockey action: Prairie Centre Area 6, Redwood Valley/BOLD 2.

On the home court tonight, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters boys' basketball team defeated fellow Section 6AA member Osakis 77-69. It's a nice win that helps the team bounce back after getting beaten soundly at state-ranked Montevideo on Friday night.

At Osakis, the Mainstreeter girls' basketball team won 52-43.

Elementary wrestling against B-B-E is at 5 p.m. tomorrow...later that night the varsity teams square off

The K-6th grade Sauk Centre/Melrose wrestlers will be wrestling against the K-6th B-B-E wrestlers before the JV match starts on Tuesday night at the high school in Belgrade. The JV wrestling is scheduled to begin at 6:00, and the elementary wrestling will start one hour prior at 5:00.
