Jaguars silent Mainstreeter bats

Whenever you commit more errors than you get hits, chances are you won't win many ball games. That was the case Friday night in Sauk Centre's baseball game against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa.

The Mainstreeters had just three hits and committed four errors in a 5-3 loss. They trailed 5-0 heading into the seventh inning when they scored three times without getting a hit, thanks to several walks and hit batsmen by Jaguar pitchers.

Josh Buschette, Leo Van Beck and Billy Moritz had hits for the Streeters. Nick Wanderscheid started on the mound and pitched four innings, allowing three runs, none of them earned. Will Funk pitched two innings of relief, allowing two runs.

Sauk will host YME Tuesday before hosting a doubleheader Thursday against Morris. They are currently 3-4 and 2-1 in the WCC North.

Nick Wanderscheid pitched well for the Mainstreeters.

Will Funk pitched in relief.
