Streeters to face Rocori tonight in playoff baseball

After winning 6-1 over Long Prairie on Tuesday, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeter baseball team lost 13-5 to St. Cloud cathedral. Cathedral, ranked No. 1 in Class AA, scored 10 first-inning runs on their way to defeating the Streeters 13-5.
Sauk outscored the Crusaders the rest of the way 5-3, but the first inning was too big of a deficit to overcome.
The Streeters scored in the third when Kyle Froseth singled and scored on a single by Dylan Haskamp. They scored again in the fifth when Froseth walked and eventually scored on another RBI single by Haskamp. They added three in the sixth when Tanner Schmiesing singled, Chase Lawinger and Noah Fletcher were hit by pitches and Luke Van Beck worked out a bases loaded walk. Will Funk then drove in a pair with a line drive double to left.
Nick Wanderscheid started on the mound and was relived by Cole Neubert.
The Streeters (seeded fourth in the west) will face No. 3 seed in the east Rocori tonight at 5 p.m. at Dick Putz Field in St. Cloud. Rocori lost to Melrose 3-2 Wednesday night. Cathedral advances to face Melrose at 7 p.m.
