Tyler Belring hits a game-winning shot with 1.2 secodns left to give the Streeters a 51-49 win, their third win of th eyear and second in the past four games:
RECAP:
The game resumed where it was left off with Milaca leading 25-12, their ball under their basket and there was 16:02 left in the game. The teams exchanged baskets to start, SC got down even further 40-25 with 10:46 to go and a 15 point deficit.
Comes back starts with Patrick Knoblauch to Michael Knoblauch for 3! Cut lead to 12 (40-28).
SC fouled on press-both teams in double bonus now- Milaca makes both free throws and gets lead back to 14 (42-28).
Michael Knoblauch penetrates the zone defense, makes the 16’ jumpshot, cuts lead back to 12 (42-30).
Teams exchange turnovers.
Nice feed inside from Berling to Winters for 2! Cuts lead to 10 (42-32).
Milaca answers with a bucket – back to 12 point lead (44-32).
Winters misses for SC but Knobby gets offensive rebound-passes to Berling who scores and is fouled. Berling makes the AND 1!
The lead is now cut to single digits at 9 (44-35) with 6:50 to go.
Sauk Centre fouls on defense and Milaca makes both Free Throws to push their lead back to 11 (46-35).
Berling misses but Winters with another offensive rebound, fouled-shoots 2 free throws-makes them both. With 6:04 score is 46-37.
Hentges with a block, then Winters with a block, tipped ball OB, Milaca keeps it. They weave it around with 4:50 to go. Keil misses a 3.
Winters got the rebound and he’s fouled. Makes his first. (Lead is now 8 46-38) But misses his second but BERLING gets another offensive rebound.
Streeters work it around on offense-find Knoblauch in the corner and he nails another 3 point basket- cuts the lead to 5! (46-41 with 4:03).
Messer gets a steal on the press, he misses inside but BERLING with another offensive rebound!
Berling misses but is fouled. Air balls first free throw, laughs it off. Makes the 2nd one. Lead is now down to 4 (46-42).
Sauk Centre denying the ball-Milaca can’t get it in. GOOD DEFENSE.
Sauk Centre ball, Milaca reaches in on Berling-He makes both Free throws to cut the lead to 2! (46-44).
Streeters pressure defense in the backcourt gets to Milaca again as they travel. But Hentges travels and gives it right back. 3:05 to go , 2 pt game.
Winters called for holding foul on defense, Milaca goes 1 for 2 at the line and pushes the lead back to 3 (47-44).
Sauk Centre ball- They go to Knobby who misses the 3 but Winters with an awesome rebound, put back is good and he’s fouled-misses the FT
But that puts SC down by only one point (47-46).
HENTGES WITH THE STEAL at their free throw line. Nobody can catch him. His layup is good! Gives SC first lead (48-47) and 1:31 to go.
Milaca misses, Messer with a big rebound. Streeters bring it across half court and call a time out with 1:31 to go.
Berling, Knoblauch and Messer weave it around, killing the clock-Milaca comes out of zone and matches up.
Milaca fouls Knobby. He misses the first but makes the second to give Sauk Centre a 2 point lead with under a minute to go.
Brandon Kiel for Milaca gets to the rim and scores to tie it up 49-49. Streeters call a time out. 27.5 seconds to go, tie game.
Sauk Centre holds the ball-going for last shot and the win. Berling penetrates, shoots and misses but GOT HIS OWN REBOUND AND PUTS IT BACK IN FOR THE WIN! 51-49 with just 1.2 seconds.
Milaca throws a long pass which gets knocked around and Sauk Centre comes back from a 15 point deficit to get their 3rd win!
