The Arrows (22-3) earned a trip to state for the second consecutive season and the third time in four years, a stretch that includes their 2007 championship.

Here's an excellent story on the Arrows' win over LQPV last night from the Worthington Globe. It gives a fair amount of insight into what type of team Pipestone Area is. Check it out here: http://www.dglobe.com/event/article/id/33879

Here's one key part to the story,

Pipestone Area, meanwhile, will face Section 6AA champion Sauk Centre in the first round of the state tournament Wednesday in Minneapolis.

Last season at state, the Arrows were one-and-done after a 42-37 loss to Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted.

The seniors haven’t forgotten.

“After last year we wanted to come out and prove it again and show that we can compete up there,” Bailey Bouman said. “We all just wanted another chance at the state tournament, and now we’re getting it.”

Note: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted went on to finish 2nd at state, earning a 46-31 win over New London-Spicer in the semi-finals.
