Both fastpitch and baseball Mainstreeter squads drop conference games to Foley

The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters baseball team lost to Foley 5-2 on the home diamond. The game was tied at 2-2 in the fourth inning before the Falcons (2-1 West Central North Conference, 3-2 overall) took the lead on a two-run home run.

Up next for the baseball team: a trip to New London on Thursday in another conference game.

At Foley, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters fastpitch team lost to the Falcons 9-2. The Mainstreeters fell into a 7-0 deficit after two innings before scoring their runs in the top of the third.

Senior Rachel Gruber went two-for-three at the plate to lead the Mainstreeters' offense. Junior Kourtney Nelson pitched all six innings, giving up seven hits, six earned runs, and five walks while firing three strikeouts.

Up next for the fastpitch team: a Thursday game at home against New London-Spicer.
