Seeding is done! Mainstreeters girls basketball is #1 seed for second year in a row in Sub-Section 6AA-East

The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters are on a mission for their second straight trip to the state tournament - but it won't be easy.  Obstacles in their way just to get out of the sub-section include Albany, Pierz, Melrose, and the Streeters' vaunted rival, New London-Spicer.
2011 Sub-Section 6AA-East girls basketball seeding:
1 - Sauk Centre
2 - New London-Spicer
3 - Albany
4 - Pierz
5 - Melrose Area
6 - Paynesville Area
7 - Holdingford
8 - St.John's Prep

For the second year in a row, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team is the top seed in the playoffs. They will host St.John's Prep out of the Prairie Conference in the Sub-Section 6AA-East quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 1, at home at 7:00pm.

After that, the Streeters (24-1) will take on the winner of the #4 Pierz vs. #5 Melrose Area game in the semi-finals, set for Friday, March 4, at 6:30pm at St.John's University.

The sub-section championship is set for Tuesday, March 8, at 7:00pm at St.John's University.

While it's not a sure bet by any means, Streeter fans can at least pencil in the Section 6AA championship, which is on March 11 at St.Cloud State University's Halenbeck Hall. (Time to be determined)

Just for fun, here's some action from Sauk Centre's first meeting with New London-Spicer on December 10, a 53-49 win.
