In their bid for a playoff win at Paynesville Area, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters softball team put up a strong effort against the #4-seeded Bulldogs in a 7-4 loss. Their final overall record in 2011 was 10-10, marking the most wins since the 2001 season, when the Streeters finished 11-10 overall and 1-1 in the Sub-Section 6AA-19 playoffs.Sauk Centre left three base runners stranded in the first inning and seven overall in the game. They earned 8 hits and committed 3 errors while earning all four runs scored.
Paynesville Area improves to 16-3 overall with the win and will face top-seeded and 10th-ranked Rocori (17-3) in the semifinal tomorrow night at River's Edge Park in Waite Park.
