Tuesday night is "Pack the Pool" night at Sauk Centre high school as the Mainstreeters host Holdingford

Activities included will be face painting, door prizes, best "Swim Fan Contest" , chuck-a-duck and a cannonball contest after the meet.

"We're trying to get people out to see a meet that maybe haven't been to one before," commented head coach James Schreiner about his Mainstreeter swimming and diving team's dual meet against Holdingford on Tuesday night this week.

Schreiner added, "The girls are looking forward to the meet. It will be a really fun night. The U of M Women's team does this. I thought 'maybe we should do this' and the girls have taken the idea and ran with it. I've heard that some kids who haven't been to a swim meet say they'll be here for the first time. It should be a charged atmosphere."

**In volleyball news, the Mainstreeters defeated visiting Benson 3-1 tonight to improve to 20-4 overall. The Braves are one match out of first place in the West Central South Conference. The Mainstreeters travel to Albany on Thursday for a tough conference match against the Huskies.

In cross country news, the Mainstreeters boys' squad won the Benson meet on Monday with Jacob Gerhartz leading the pack with a first place finish. The Mainstreeters girls' squad took second place behind Madison Greenwaldt's runner-up finish. Read more on the cross country teams in this week's Oct. 13 issue of the Sauk Centre Herald.
