North Stars boys' hockey wraps up regular season tomorrow night

Prairie Centre Area looks for their seventh win of the season with a trip to Breezy Point on Tuesday night, where they'll face Northern Lakes (Pequot Lakes, Aitkin, Crosby-Ironton, Pine River-Backus) in a Mid-State Conference contest. The Lightning are 10-12 overall and 2-5 in the conference standings.

The Sauk Centre-Melrose wrestling team opens the Section 6AA team playoffs on Tuesday night. SC-M is seeded 10th with a 4-14 overall record and faces seventh-seeded Princeton (9-11) in the play-in round. They square off at New London-Spicer beginning at 6 p.m. The Wildcats, seeded two with a 9-8 overall record, face the winner of the match in the section quarterfinals later in the evening. Foley (20-4) is the top seed, while Becker (17-4) is third.

The Sauk Centre vs. Staples-Motley girls' basketball game scheduled for tonight (Feb. 11) was cancelled and will not be made up. The Mainstreeters look for win number 20 on the season with a home game against Yellow Medicine East tomorrow night. The Sting are 4-17 overall and 1-13 in the West Central South Conference; they're struggling this year and hold a 39.9 points per game offensive average.

The Mainstreeters boys' basketball team travels to YME (Granite Falls) to face the 1-15 Sting tomorrow night. A win would give Sauk Centre a 14-4 overall record.
