Trailing 7-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning on Monday, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters baseball team got three runs back but couldn't overtake the visiting Paynesville Bulldogs in their first West Central Conference loss of the season. The Bulldogs improved to 4-1 with a 7-6 win.

Up next is a trip to Morris on Thursday to face the Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers in Sauk Centre's first West Central North Conference game.
At Osakis on Monday, the Mainstreeters softball team lost 11-6 to fall to 3-1 on the year. Their next game is on Thursday at home at 5 p.m. against MA/CA in a WCC-North contest.
At Sartell on Monday, the Sauk Centre boys' golf team shot a 394 to tie Albany for ninth place (out of 16 teams) in their first action of the season.
