In their season and conference opener on Tuesday, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters softball team prevailed in shut out fashion against the BOLD Warriors by an 8-0 score.
The Mainstreeters got a four-hit performance from starting pitcher Katelyn Durbin, who had great support at the plate from her team. They host another West Central South Conference team, Benson-Hancock, on Thursday at 5 p.m. According to head coach TJ Schmiesing, that game will also be played on the JV field.
At Holdingford for the track and field opener, the Mainstreeters boys' squad earned runner-up honors behind the host Huskers. Holdingford had 247 team points compared to 141 for Sauk Centre.
