Tennis, swimming and diving, volleyball all win

Three varsity teams all picked up wins today for the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters.

In the morning, the girls' tennis team beat Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 7-0 in a non-conference match. Their next action is on Tuesday at Granite Falls against Yellow Medicine East in the West Central Conference opener.

The girls' swimming and diving team won 11 of 12 events in their non-conference dual that was also their home opener against Albany Area. The final score was 123-63. Their next action is on Thursday, Sept. 4 with a home dual meet against St. Cloud Cathedral/St. John's Prep.

The volleyball team was also victorious in their home opener with a 3-1 win over Montevideo in the first match of the West Central Conference schedule. Game scores were 25-11, 25-10, 28-30, 25-11. Sauk Centre's next match is a big one, as they travel to state-rated Melrose Area on Tuesday in a key conference and sub-section match up.

Don't miss out on Friday night's big football game, when the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters open up their season against neighboring rival Minnewaska Area. Kickoff at O'Gara Stadium is at 7 p.m.
