At Gold's Gym in St.Cloud on Wednesday, the number-three seeded Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls tennis team knocked out #6-seed Parkers Prairie in a 7-0 shut out in the Section 6A quarterfinals.
With the playoff-opening win, the Streeters improve to 17-2 overall.
On Thursday this week back at Gold's Gym, the Streeters will face #2-seed Staples-Motley/Verndale in the semi-final round at 10:00am. If they win, they'll play at 1:00pm the same day with a state tournament berth on the line.
The top seed in Section 6A is undefeated Osakis, while the other team remaining in the tournament is Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Upsala-Swanville Area. LP-GE/USA, the number four seed, squeezed past #5-seed Minnewaska Area 4-3 to advance.
