Mainstreeters baseball, softball teams both win on the diamonds today

Action from Osakis today in a baseball border battle...

In a come-from-behind effort, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters baseball team used a seventh-inning rally to overcome Osakis today in a non-conference border battle. The Streeters plated four runs in the top of the seventh to win 10-8.
Today on the home diamond, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters defeated Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 3-1 to improve to 10-7 overall on the season and 9-7 in the West Central North Conference.

Today's win guarantees the Mainstreeters their first winning regular season since 2007. That year, they went 8-7 heading into playoffs, where they bowed out in the first round in a 4-3 loss to Staples-Motley.

Tomorrow the Streeters travel to Mora for a double-header.

Also tomorrow, the Mainstreeters track and field teams will compete at the West Central North Conference meet in Milaca. The meet begins at 3:30 p.m.

More will follow later.
