Albany spoils Sauk's homecoming 41-7

The Mainstreeters had hopes of shutting down Albany's running game Friday night. In fact, if they did that they figured they had a chance to beat the Huskies.

Sauk did an admirable job containing the run, for the most part, but got burned on a couple long passing plays that led to Albany scores in a 41-7 loss.

Meanwhile the Streeters had trouble moving the ball in the first half thanks to several dropped passes. They trailed 14-0 at half and then 21-0 early in the third when Michael Knoblauch finally got them on the board with a 1-yard TD run. Josh Buschette nailed the extra point.

Knoblauch's touchdown was set up by a long passing play when Patrick Knoblauch hooked up with Terrence Ellis.

Roosevelt Austin is upended by an Albany player in Friday's 41-7 loss.

But Albany QB Tony Harlander threw a 27-yard TD pass and then ran one in a yard out for a 35-7 lead to seal the win.

Albany scored again late for the 41-7 victory.
