Are you ready to rumble? The Mainstreeters football team is! Set to face BOLD, a team that will take to the air Thursday night

The Mainstreeters' opponent will be the BOLD Warriors of Olivia, who play in the West Central South Conference.

Game time is 7 p.m. at O'Gara Field at the Sauk Centre High School.

**BOLD preview updated on Thursday at 7 a.m....
The Warriors are led by senior Kyle Athmann, who led the central Minnesota area around Willmar in passing yardage last season. During his junior season, Athmann connected on 58 of 107 passes for 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns. He will lead a revamped offense that graduated two 1,000 yard rushers from the 2010 team.

Senior Jacob Marcus is noted as Athmann's top receiver in the flats, while out of the backfield seniors Zach Remillard and Jordan Skeie will be the Warriors' top running backs.

BOLD finished 8-3 last season, including a 6-2 regular season mark and a runner-up finish in Section 5AA. They lost in the section championship to Eden Valley-Watkins 42-7.

In the West Central South, the Warriors finished one game out of first place with a 5-2 record, good for a second place tie with Lac qui Parle Valley. Morris Area won the WCCS with a 6-1 league mark.

According to BOLD head coach Steve Solem, the Warriors were hit hard by graduation in 2010, despite the return of their All-Area quarterback and nine starters overall. The loss of their two 1,000 yard rushers will open up the passing game more so than they did in 2010. All nine returning starters are seniors.

Coach Solem is entering his 25th season at the helm of the BOLD program with a career record of 209-62. In the early 1990s he took two teams to the Prep Bowl, while BOLD most recently advanced as far as the state semifinals in 2004 when they finished 12-1.

"Our football numbers are down a bit this year, just like many other schools are," Solem reported. "We're a little green at some positions."

Solem still feels his team can contend for a conference title, although it may take a few games to get everything clicking.

More will follow later.
