It's a three-peat! Sauk Centre is state-bound in girls' basketball yet again

The Mainstreeters line up tonight during the National Anthem.

The final score from Halenbeck Hall: Sauk Centre 49, Litchfield 35. The Mainstreeters (25-4) open up the Class AA state tournament at 8 p.m. at the Target Center on Wednesday, Mar. 14. They will face the winner of the Section 3AA championship, Worthington. The Trojans have won 8 games in a row and stand at 20-7 overall. They went 10-2 in the Southwest Conference, finishing in second place alone behind conference-unbeaten Marshall (21-7).

Here's a clip from 11 minutes left or so in the first half...

...when it was still a close game.

A note on DTV20 coverage...it was mistakenly reported on this blog that you can view the playoff games on DTV20...you can do that, but not live. Arvig does not have the live streaming license, which would be quite cost-prohibitive, but they are able to record the games and resell DVDs of them at the low price of $5 each.

Future basketball stars for the Mainstreeters enjoyed cheering with plenty of enthusiasm throughout the entire game tonight, especially watching the team accept the medals and team trophy.

Don't miss an article recapping the game at the Sauk Centre Herald website: http://www.saukherald.com/main.asp?SectionID=8&SubSectionID=358&ArticleID=13895
