The Sauk Centre boys' basketball team shot just 3-of-23 form three-point range Saturday in a loss to top-seeded Long Prairie-Grey Eagle. In comparison, the Thunder drained over 53 percent of their field goals overall in a 61-46 win.

The Streeters got behind early, but eventually closed the gap to four in the second half. But the Thunder shot well, made several key baskets to win handily 61-46.

Nick Adams led Sauk with 16 points, and the Mainstreeters finished the season 16-9 overall.

The Streeters graduate several solid seniors form this year's squad. Michael Knoblauch, Travis Rieland, Sam Fischer and Terrence Ellis all played their final high school game Saturday.

Despite losing those four quality guys, Sauk will bring back a solid group of underclassmen and should compete for a conference title in 2012-13.

It was a great run for this year's Streeter boys!

LP-GE (24-2) will play the winner of Melrose and Pierz, who are playing now. Update: Pierz won an epic playoff battle with Melrose by an 82-76 margin in overtime. The Dutchmen trailed 77-76 in the final two minutes before the Pioneers pulled away at the free throw line.
