With a perfect pool play record on Saturday morning and afternoon at the University of Minnesota-Morris P.E. Center, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters volleyball team landed a spot in the championship match of the 11-team Stacy Polzin McIntyre tournament. (9th annual)

Their opponent was a very solid Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers team, who is a contender for the West Central South Conference title this season.

The Mainstreeters, who improved to 6-2 overall, handed the Tigers their second loss of the season, sweeping them in the championship match 25-13, 25-21.

After the match, Coach Klaphake had nothing but praise for the effort put forth by the Streeters today, "We really came out and played very well, with inspired, enthusiastic ball against MACA, they're a good team and we're happy to get the win."

Here's who got swept by the Mainstreeters in pool play action at UMM today in two sets each: Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley, Minnewaska Area, and West Central Area.
