Final score from New London-Spicer High School on Tuesday night: Litchfield 35, Sauk Centre/Melrose 24. The Dragons (6-13) went on to lose 66-12 to #2-seed New London-Spicer in the quarterfinal round. SC/Melrose finished the season with a dual meet record of 2-10.
In the other section preliminary round matches: Sixth-seeded Big Lake defeated #11 seed Albany 54-18; eighth-seeded Dassel-Cokato beat #9 Sartell-St.Stephen 47-24.
Section 6AA has 11 teams. SC/Melrose was the #10 seed, while Litchfield was ranked #7.
