Weekend Results

Here are some results from last week in Streeter Sportsland:
- The Sauk Centre-Melrose swim team finished seventh out of 10 teams at the state true team meet. They lost to Sartell-St. Stephen on Thursday in their first dual meet loss of the season. But edged Sartell in the state true team meet Saturday.
- John Gusewelle won the 189-pound weight class at the West Central North Conference Tournament, held in Sauk Friday. The Streeters finished fifth as a team.
- The boys basketball team fell to BBE on Thursday and lost a close one to LP-GE last Tuesday. Isaac Winter is out with an apparent ankle injury. The team has been ravaged by injuries this year.
- The girls improved to 18-0 with a pair of wins last week. They will hold onto their No. 1 ranking in Class AA. They play Albany in Sauk Monday. Albany made a run at New London last week, losing 53-50. Should be a good one.
- The North Stars lost 9-2 Friday to Detroit Lakes who has the state's top scorer in Tanner Lane. Lane went for two goals and four assists for DL and has 42 goals and 35 assists on the year. Cody Bartkowicz scored his team-leading 16th goal for the Stars. The Stars did beat Northern Lakes 3-2 last week and are 5-15-1. Nate Mettenburg scored the game winner in that one.
