After trailing 3-1 in the third inning and 4-1 in the fourth, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters fastpitch team rallied for a thrilling come-from-behind win over West Central North Conference rival Melrose Area tonight on the home diamond.
Ashley Gruber's run scored on a passed ball to give the Mainstreeters their fifth run.
After suffering two losses by shutout to open the 2010 season, the Mainstreeters got the job done against the Dutchmen in the bottom of the seventh inning, when they plated two runs to pick up their first win of the season.

In prep baseball action...
Over in Melrose on Friday afternoon, the host Dutchmen defeated Sauk Centre 9-2 in the West Central North Conference opener for both teams. It was the Mainstreeters baseball team's season opener, while Melrose Area improved to 2-0 with the win.
