Streeters girls basketball holds 37-17 lead over B-B-E at the break

The Streeters are looking to improve to 19-1 on the season, if they can defeat B-B-E in tonight's non-conference game in Belgrade.

The Jaguars entered tonight's contest with a 6-10 overall record, 4-5 in the Central Minnesota Conference.

Final score: Sauk Centre 77, B-B-E 43. The Streeters put up 77 points for the second night in a row!

Streeters girls basketball mauls St.Cloud Cathedral 77-28

In their biggest win over St.Cloud Cathedral in many years, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team defeated the visiting Crusaders tonight 77-28 in a West Central North Conference game.

The #2-ranked Streeters improve to 18-1 overall and 11-0 in the WCCN. They travel to Belgrade tomorrow, Friday night, to face the neighboring rival Jaguars in a non-conference game. B-B-E just defeated Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted tonight 79-70 in a Central Minnesota Conference game. The Lakers were leading the CMC by a half game in the standings over Pierz going into the game tonight.

Another great night on the hardwood for the Sauk Centre boys basketball team

The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters boys basketball team continued its turnaround season with a 73-63 win at always-tough St.Cloud Cathedral (10-8) tonight in a West Central North Conference game.

The Streeters are now 12-5 overall and 6-3 in the conference. The win pulls them into a tie for third place in the league with the Crusaders.

New London-Spicer remains unbeaten in the WCCN at 8-0, while Long Prairie-Grey Eagle sits in second place at 6-2.

The next action for the Streeters boys basketball team is next week Tuesday, February 8, when they travel to Foley.

Streeters/Dutchmen wrestlers take fifth at conference tournament

At the West Central North Conference tournament on Friday at Albany High School, the Sauk Centre/Melrose Area wrestling team placed fifth with 111 team points.

WCCN tournament team standings: Foley 256.0, New London-Spicer 200.0, Milaca 180.5, Mora 132.5, Sauk Centre/Melrose 111.0, Albany 84.0, Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 46.0.

Their next action is a home triangular this week Tuesday, when they host Little Falls and Dassel-Cokato.
