After playing through two scoreless innings, the Sauk Centre baseball team scored three times in the third inning and rolled after that in an 8-1 win over visiting Osakis today.
The Mainstreeters improve to 4-3 overall and host Browerville next Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Osakis entered this week 4-1 overall but takes a 4-4 record into next week; they were ranked #30 in the latest Class A coaches poll released on April 25.

Mainstreeters baseball takes a 2-0 fourth-inning lead at Melrose
With no outs, Sauk Centre went up 2-0 with a home run with an RBI by Michael Knoblauch in the fourth inning. One baserunner didn't execute properly, or else it would've been a 3-0 lead on the big hit by Knoblauch.

Mainstreeter track and field squads both take 4th at LP-GE
The Sauk Centre girls' track and field team totaled 97 points at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Tuesday night to finish in fourth place. The host LP-GE Thunder girls' team won their division with 125 points.
On the boys' side, Sauk Centre also finished in fourth place and had 86.83 points. Albany was the champion in this division with 125.75 points.
On Thursday this week, the Mainstreeters compete at Becker.
Mainstreeters softball shuts out B-B-E
Junior Colleen LuGrain pitched a four-hit shut out against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on the home diamond Tuesday night.
Her efforts helped the Mainstreeters softball team improve to 4-3 on the season with their second win in a row.
They next host Melrose Area (3-6) on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Mainstreeters softball is back to .500
Today at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, Sauk Centre's softball team won 17-3. They are now 3-3 overall and host Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (2-3) at 4:15 p.m. tomorrow.
At St. Cloud's Dick Putz Field, the Mainstreeters baseball team fell prey to a nine-run first inning by the Cathedral Crusaders before settling in and playing very competitive baseball with the top-ranked team in Class AA. The final score was 10-2.
