On Wednesday night in the finals of the Park Rapids tournament, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters boys basketball team defeated Nevis 59-36. It is their fourth win in a row.
The Streeters' 6-3 start to this season is the best since 2006-2007, when they went 8-3 in their first 11 games on their way to a sub-section final appearance.
They now have a long break in action until next week Friday, when they host Milaca (0-6) in a conference game on January 7.

Streeters girls basketball defeats Pierz, Crosby-Ironton to win the Pierz tournament
With two more wins to their credit this week, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team improved to 8-1 overall after winning the Pierz tournament on Monday and Tuesday nights.
In the opening round, the Streeters beat the host Pioneers 64-38 on Monday. Tonight, they beat Crosby-Ironton 63-44 in the championship. The Rangers entered the game with a 7-1 record, their other loss coming from Perham (7-0) on December 9 by a 70-59 score.
