Just like the first meeting between the two teams, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters boys basketball team lost by single digits to New London-Spicer in a West Central North Conference game. Tonight on the home court, the Streeters fell 76-73.
NL-S is the defending Section 6AA and Class AA state champion.
The Streeters, who have dropped three games in a row, fall to 15-8 overall and 9-6 in the WCCN. NL-S is 16-8 overall and 12-3 in the WCCN, sitting in second place alone.

Wrestling fans - come out to Melrose Area High School and cheer on your Sauk Centre/Melrose wrestlers in the section individual tournament
Class AA teams from all around the area will converge on Melrose, as their top wrestlers will do battle for state tournament berths, with others competing for Section 6AA medals.
The Sauk Centre/Melrose Area wrestling team will be competing in the Section 6AA individual tournament beginning on Friday afternoon, February 25, at Melrose high school. Action begins at 4:30pm.
Action continues on Saturday at 11:00am in Melrose, with the finals taking place later that day.

Seeding is done! Mainstreeters girls basketball is #1 seed for second year in a row in Sub-Section 6AA-East
The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters are on a mission for their second straight trip to the state tournament - but it won't be easy. Obstacles in their way just to get out of the sub-section include Albany, Pierz, Melrose, and the Streeters' vaunted rival, New London-Spicer.

For the second year in a row, the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team is the top seed in the playoffs. They will host St.John's Prep out of the Prairie Conference in the Sub-Section 6AA-East quarterfinals on Tuesday, March 1, at home at 7:00pm.
After that, the Streeters (24-1) will take on the winner of the #4 Pierz vs. #5 Melrose Area game in the semi-finals, set for Friday, March 4, at 6:30pm at St.John's University.
The sub-section championship is set for Tuesday, March 8, at 7:00pm at St.John's University.
While it's not a sure bet by any means, Streeter fans can at least pencil in the Section 6AA championship, which is on March 11 at St.Cloud State University's Halenbeck Hall. (Time to be determined)

Tough loss for the Streeters boys basketball team, dropping a 70-55 contest to Melrose - Streeter girls beat Melrose 69-38
The Mainstreeters boys basketball team has dropped two in a row now in conference play and sits 15-7 overall and 9-5 in the league. The loss was on the Dutchmen home floor, always a tough place to play.
Sauk Centre looks to rebound this Friday night, when they host New London-Spicer in a key sub-section battle. Whoever wins that game will have the inside track at the #1 seed in Sub-Section 6AA-East.

In their final regular season game, the Mainstreeter girls basketball team defeated Melrose Area on the home court 69-38. They are 24-1 overall, marking the most wins in a regular season for girls basketball at Sauk Centre High School. In the West Central North Conference, the Streeter girls won the title outright with a 16-0 record. This is the first year in Sauk Centre girls basketball history that they have gone unbeaten in conference play. Last year, they went 15-1 in the league and shared the crown with New London-Spicer.
Melrose Area takes a 12-11 overall record into the sub-section playoffs. They went 6-10 in the West Central North Conference, good for sixth place.
