The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls tennis team has opened up the 2010 season with five straight wins.
Last Friday in a season-opening triangular at MACCRAY, the Mainstreeters defeated the host Wolverines by a 6-1 score and then beat Redwood Valley 5-2 to start the season 2-0. Sauk Centre's No. 1 singles player senior Laura Hintzen, No. 3 singles player Krystal Heinen and No. 2 doubles team of seniors Meghan Duchene and Leah Middendorf all went 2-0.
On Monday this week in a home quadrangular, the Mainstreeters defeated Parkers Prairie, Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, and Wadena-Deer Creek.
Their next action is on Wednesday morning when they host an invitational beginning at 8:30am at the high school courts.
