The
Mainstreeters volleyball team won game five tonight against #2-seeded Little Falls by a 15-11 score to advance to the
Section 6AA championship match for the third year in a row.
Sauk Centre won game one 25-16, and then they won game two as well.
Little Falls won the next two games to tie it up 2-2!
Game five was a back and forth effort between the two teams. Little Falls certainly had the momentum and for a while it looked as though the top-seeded Mainsreeters would get knocked off.
But a couple Little Falls miscues led to a 13-11 lead. After scoring the 14th point, Kendra Zenzen leapt high and hit hard for the game-winning kill.
Check back here tomorrow for photos and video of the big win.
Up next: on Saturday afternoon at
St. Ben's University in St. Joseph at 2 p.m. the Mainstreeters face #4-seeded Annandale out of the east half of the section. The Cardinals knocked out #2-seeded St. Cloud Cathedral tonight in their sub-section title match.
