The Sauk Centre softball team won their third game in a row
Thursday defeating a good Osakis team 13-8.
They have now scored 42 runs in their past three games.
On Thursday the Streeters had 14 hits, led by Morgan Garmadt
who was 3-for-4. Cassidy Zenzen, Brooke Fetterer and Jenny Gieske each added
two hits apiece as Sauk scored seven second-inning runs and held off an Osakis
comeback to improve to 3-1 on the season.
After leading 8-1, Osakis scored five in the third to make
it 8-6, but the Streeters responded with three more in the bottom of the inning
for an 11-6 lead. Amanda Lahr and the defense settled in after that to earn the
hard-fought victory.
Gieske drove in three runs and Jill Klaphake, Gamradt,
Zenzen and Fetterer each drove in two apiece.
Sauk’s next game is next Tuesday at home against Melrose
(0-4) in Sauk Centre.
