The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters girls basketball team blasted the Staples-Motley Cardinals with a 16-0 run to start the game.
It took 10 minutes before the Cardinals hit their second field goal of the first half.
In the second half, Staples-Motley fought like warriors to whittle the deficit down to 15 points. With just under 5:00 left, the Mainstreeters now lead 50-35.
With 11:50 left in the second half, a Maren Greenwaldt three-pointer made it 39-19. After that point, Staples-Motley began chopping away at Sauk Centre's big lead.
