It wasn't pretty at Hantho Township in Lac qui Parle County, where the host LQPV Eagles blasted Sauk Centre in a 40-13 loss for the Maroon.
At halftime, Sauk Centre trailed 20-6, with their lone touchdown coming in the second quarter on an 18-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Knoblauch to Roosevelt Austin. In the third quarter, Terrence Ellis scored on a rushing play from six yards out, with Josh Buschette's PAT kick making it 26-13 at that point.
Sauk Centre rushed for 252 yards while getting 78 more through the air. They gave up no interceptions and no lost fumbles. Roosevelt Austin had 17 carries for 144 yards. LQPV had 276 yards on the ground and 45 through the air on 2-of-2 passing. Four of the Eagles' six touchdowns were on the ground, one was on a kickoff return and the other was on a 20-yard pass play. Pete Sprengeler earned the Mainstreeters' fumble recovery.
