The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters volleyball team saw their state title hopes crash to a halt in a 3-0 loss to #2-seeded Caledonia tonight at Xcel Energy Center in the Class 2A state semifinals. They face Belle Plaine at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the third-place match.
At the Section 6A girls' swimming and diving meet in Sartell, the Mainstreeters had a fantastic showing in the preliminary swimming races. With very limited notes, it was fun to watch Sarah Bushard blow up her seed time and finish 15th in the 100 breaststroke.
Here's senior co-captain Jillian Hujanen in the 100 backstroke tonight...
Also very awesome = the top 400 freestyle relay team from Sauk Centre set a season record in their preliminary race with a time of 3:52.45. They hold the third seed with that time for tomorrow's finals round. The top two relay teams make it to state.
Good luck, Mainstreeters! Diving begins at 11 a.m. tomorrow in Sartell.
