The Holdingford Huskers, just 7-17 heading into the Sub-Section 6AA-North playoffs, put a scare into the Sauk Centre Mainstreeters boys' basketball team tonight by coming out with a strong first half and leading 28-24 at the break.
The Mainstreeters, 20-5 themselves coming into the contest, did what they had to in the second half and won 58-55.
Up next: the Albany Huskies are the next opponent for the sub-section semifinal round this Saturday at St. John's University. The Huskies blasted Staples-Motley 71-33 in their quarterfinal game. Tip off between the Mainstreeters and the Huskies will be at 3:30 p.m.
Long Prairie-Grey Eagle won 56-42 over visiting Pierz, while Melrose Area blasted 8th-seeded Osakis 67-27.
